Do a Good Turn: How Small Acts of Kindness Make a Big Difference.
This morning Kathy and I stopped by MOMEL's house to water their flower beds while they're out of town.
For those wondering, "MOMEL" is the nickname my brothers, sisters, and I have always used for our mom and my stepdad, Mel.
Utah has been covered in smoke from field fires lately, and that smoke isn't just hard on people—it can also stress plants that are already dealing with the summer heat. It only took us a few minutes to stop and give everything a good watering.
It got me thinking...
Doing a good turn doesn't always require a big sacrifice. Sometimes it's simply noticing a need and taking a few minutes to help.
As Generation X, many of us are in a season of life where we're helping parents, raising families, working full-time, and juggling more responsibilities than we ever imagined. It's easy to think we don't have time for one more thing.
But often, the moments people remember most aren't the big gifts. They're the small acts of kindness that quietly say, "I was thinking about you."
Today, maybe that's checking on a neighbor, calling a friend, helping a coworker, or lending a hand to a family member.
Small acts. Big impact.
