Cameron
Welcome to the Its, All, Team, Podcast. I’m your host, Cameron
This is the podcast built for Generation X — the group that’s been working hard their entire lives, doing everything right, and still wondering if it’s going to be enough.
And today, we’re going to challenge one of the biggest beliefs in network marketing: The belief that you have to talk to your friends, your family, your coworkers, or basically anyone that you've ever known before to build a real business.
Because what if that’s not true? What if you could build something real, without awkward conversations, without burning relationships, and without chasing people who were never interested in the first place?
Today, you’re going to hear from someone who actually did it. Joining me today is Michelle.
Michelle is Gen X — just like many of you listening. She didn’t come from a sales background. She didn’t have a big following.
And most importantly, she made a decision early on,sShe was not going to build her business by going after people she already knew.
And over time, her business income replaced her job income.
Michelle, welcome to the It's All Team Podcast.
Michelle
Thanks Cameron, I’m really glad to be here.
Cameron
Now Michelle, when you first got started, why didn’t you want to talk to people you knew?
Michelle
Honestly… Because I tried it. And it was terrible!
I made the list, I reached out to friends, family, coworkers, and what I got back was… awkward silence… polite “no thanks”… and a few people who avoided me after that.
And I realized something fast: Just because someone knows you, doesn’t mean they trust you in business. And it definitely doesn’t mean they want what you’re offering.
Cameron
That’s something a lot of people don’t want to admit.
Michelle
Yeah — and it was freeing once I accepted it. Because then I asked a better question: “What if I only talked to people who were already open to what I have?”
Cameron
So what changed for you after that?
Michelle
Everything! Instead of chasing people, I started positioning myself so people could find me. And here’s the first big thing I did: I stopped “pitching” and started attracting. I didn’t lead with my business anymore.
I started sharing: My journey, What I was learning, My frustrations, Small wins, And people began to relate. Not everyone, but the right people.
Cameron
So instead of convincing, you were connecting.
Michelle
Exactly! And that’s a completely different game.
Cameron
What was your next major step?
Michelle
The second thing was huge: I started using systems instead of conversations. I realized I didn’t need to explain everything. So I started using: Simple web pages, Videos, and Automated follow-ups.
When someone showed interest… I didn’t chase them down. I sent them to a system that did the explaining for me.
Cameron
So you weren’t the salesperson anymore?
Michelle
Right! The system did the heavy lifting for me. And that removed pressure, for me, and for them.
Cameron
Now here’s the big question. If you’re not talking to people you know, Where are these people coming from?
Michelle
That’s the part people overcomplicate. I focused on people already looking for change. There are people everywhere… Tired of their job, Looking for extra income, Curious about something better. I focused on putting myself in front of those people. Through: Social media, Simple content, Being consistent, Not viral… not perfect… just consistent.
Cameron
So instead of dragging people into something, you were meeting people already moving in that direction?
Michelle
Exactly! And that makes everything easier.
Cameron
Michelle, let’s be honest… This didn’t happen overnight.
Michelle
No, and that’s important to say. This took me time. There were months where it felt slow. But here’s what I understood: I wasn’t building fast… I was building real. And over time, It compounded. Until one day, my income from this matched my job's income.
Cameron
I believe that’s the point, that most people are chasing, to create enough income to replace their jobs.
Michelle
Yes — but what I did came from consistency, not luck.
Cameron
Michelle, for someone listening right now, They’ve tried before, maybe failed, maybe didn’t want to bug people they know, What would you tell them?
Michelle
I’d tell them this: You don’t need to convince anyone. You don’t need to chase anyone. You don’t need to burn relationships.
You just need: A better approach, A simple system, And the patience to let it work.
There are people out there who want exactly what you’re looking for. You just haven’t met them yet.
Cameron
That right there, That’s the shift, And if you’re listening to this thinking, “There has to be a better way.” There is. And it’s exactly what we focus on inside the It's All Team Podcast and more found at our web page iTSALLTeam.com.
Where you'll find systems and training designed for people who don’t want to chase, don’t want to pressure, and don’t want to rely on friends and family to build something real.
